sooc.

this was the last time she would run away.
this was where she belonged.

as she ran her finger through the ice-cool water, she contemplated her mortality.
she contemplated her mistakes.
she contemplated herself.

"what have i to be proud of?"
"what have i to achieve?"
"what have i to love?"

and, as she plunged her body into the waves, she silently whispered "nothing".

Remembering Havank

Remembering Havank

Every year, on June 22, an ever dwindling group of followers gathers in the Frisian Dutch city of Leeuwarden at the grave of Hendrikus Frederikus van der Kallen, better known under his writing pseudonym: Havank. He was a writer of detective novels and died in 1964.
On the right, looking into the camera, is Dutch cartoonist Daan Jippes, who started a cartoon series, based on the detective stories by Havank.

Panorama stitched from 17 individual images, shot from the hip (ie. no tripod).
