On September 8th 1915 three German Navy Zeppelins launched a bombing raid, with London as the main target. Zeppelin L14 developed engine problems and turned back. The crew dropped their bombs on (East) Dereham, Norfolk, causing widespread damage. Two residents were killed - James Taylor was a High Street shopkeeper.
