For the first time in years I had one of my Compact Flash cards corrupt. This was a real pain as the images on there were quite stressful to get. Over the weekend I tried using various different types of recovery software on the card and just as I was about to give up I managed to get most of the photos back!

The software also recovered quite a few images from different jobs in the last couple of years, most notably from the papal visit in September 2010. There were a couple of interesting photos there that I?d forgotten I?d taken.

This dedicated chap was one of the many people who turned out to either show their support for the Pope or to protest his visit. Sometimes some of them were so wild it was hard to tell which!

To top off his visit the Pope gave a large mass in Hyde Park. This was a ticketed event. I?ve no idea how much the tickets were but there were quite a few of the faithful on the outside who didn?t have one and were reduced to trying to see what was going on through gaps in the huge wall.

This was late in the evening on the second day of the visit. The pope had left the mass in Hyde Park and everyone was slowly making their way home.
