My wife and I were fans of the BBC TV mock horror comedy show 'The League of Gentlemen' which was filmed in the 1990's. We couldn't resist a trip to Hadfield in Derbyshire to see what still remains of the principle location in the series which was called 'Royston Vasey' in the show. The 'Local Shop' apparently never existed being a plywood film set on Marston Moor however the Cafe is still in use and boasts the title 'Cafe Royston'. The dubious butchers shop H.Briss & Sons is also still open but under its real name of J.Mettrick and Sons.

Jacqueline took this photo as a kind of fun promotion for the Norfolk Churches site. In the end we didn't use it because we didn't think it would go down terribly well.

Fortunately for this little pooch, Mr Chinnery the accident-prone local vet wasn't cycling past, and it didn't therefore end up mere bone and gristle on a lead.
