Almost tropical...

Almost tropical...

This beautiful waterfall is located along the road between Vesuvius, VA and Steele's Tavern, VA. I first saw it this winter (with alot more water on it) when we went to go cut our Christmas Tree. We came back by it last Saturday after picking blackberries, so I had to stop. Many thanks to the landowners for allowing us to stop and shoot on their property. I believe the water cuts through mineral deposits and hot springs, because the rocks in the area had mineral coating and the area around the falls had that eroded look rather than the harder rock. The plants surrounding it were also lush and tropical looking. I thought the shape of the falls was spectacular. The difficulty of shooting this fall was setting up a nice composition. I liked how this one turned out. I was very happy to see some water on this fall considering Virginia has been suffering from drought this summer. Hope you all have a great weekend!
