These fisherman had lost almost everything during the Dec 24, 2004 Tsunami (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_Indian_Ocean_earthquake). Lot of corporates pitched in to Help. This boat has been donated by the GE Elfun Society (http://www.elfun.org/). Earlier each fisherman used to have his own boat. Now 6 fishermen own one of these boats. The motor I believe did not come as part of the aid. According to these fishermen, their catch has decreased after tsunami. Also now income is less as 6 people have to share the catch. Apart from fishing, these fishermen now earn a bit by giving joy rides for city folks for whom a trip on these boats is a thrill.
