Day 70: "Here comes the sun, little darling, here comes the sun"

I post this as my picture if the day as much for what is not there as what is there: no snow! No ice! No heavy fur-lined winter coat! Finally, it seems the seasons have changed, and the weather changed to fabulous enough to venture outside without a jacket -- and just in time for spring break!

Day 69: O Frabjulous Day!

I nearly chortled with joy when I discovered that my favorite time of year is nigh: the season of chocolate-covered marshmallow treats! Now if only they'd come up with a calorie- and fat-free version that tasted just as good as these, which I sadly had to leave all by their lonesome on the gas station shelf with the other, far less delicious sugary treats ...

I've been meaning to get portable speakers for my iPod since -- oh, since I got it three years ago. I realized that I'm going to need said speakers for upcoming classes (and that I'm also going to need to listen to Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall all the time, everywhere), and so finally broke down and purchased these folding speakers, which I absolutely love. They're made from recycled material, they cost less than ten bucks, and they sound great!

Each Morning...

Each Morning...

..... Each morning we rise to the dreams and aspirations we have set for ourselves. And if we are really committed we achieve them with efforts and by grace of God.

Yet I learnt something very important and so this picture of rising sun daily reminds me what is dream for me and where I am thus anchored firmly. Of course I will have more dreams and work for them like the Seeds++ dreams, but finally where I am anchored and desire to be anchored is based on message of these two inspirational incidents. This thought of 'my anchored dreams'... I will daily maintain:-) I will pray after waking and reflect on this:

Swamishri (Pramukh Swami Maharaj) arrived in Birmingham at 12:15 p.m. on 3-7-2000. While on way to one of residence someone said, "It is the wish of Dr. Swami that you be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The Award Ceremony takes place in Oslo, Norway. This award should be presented to you in presence of all senior sadhus, saints and thousands of devotees."

Swamishri responded with joy, "For us the biggest prize is having met Shastriji Maharaj and Yogiji Maharaj (Both Pramukh Swami Maharaj's Guru). Everything is included in that. They are the topmost of the Top. So whether one gets it or not, there is no regret. That Maharaj (Lord Swaminarayan) and Swami are happy and Shastriji Maharaj and Yogiji Maharaj has blessed us is the greatest of all prizes.

Similarly Once in Vidyanagar a youth named Suresh asked about this Nobel Prize.

"For me I have got you. I have got these sadhus (saints). That for me is the Nobel Prize! We have devotion for God ? that is also the Nobel Prize. You will advance in your careers and do great works. Millions will receive satsang through you. The (Gunatit) Sadhu is the real Nobel Prize." ? Swamishri said.

There were tears in many eyes. What greater value and respect can there be for children and youths than such feelings of Swami Bapa (Pramukh Swami Maharaj)? He thinks of us as his Nobel Prize! Swami loves us more than Nobel Prize!! That's why Swami is the Noblest of the noble. He has the Prize of Hearts. Your Heart. My Heart. Millions of Heart!

unfolding our shadows

unfolding our shadows

our values for clarity... that's design and way of living life..

Once at NID we had an interesting discussion on design, trends and also we pondered a lot to really understand - do we know what design is? It was interestingly observed that values and intention are key drivers. We start with ambiguity and move towards clarity. But are we creating value for our own soul? Design is an expression which is done for mostly others, yet in this value creation do we miss our own values, own sense of purpose? In thinking shortterm benefits we do lose it a lot. We are so possessive with our own definitions which like shadows chase us. We can't objectively seperate and see the real picture.

We do create a strong value perception for creating good design. That makes our design good. But its said good design just happens! It happens by our very approach to life. By unfolding our clingingness to own shadows we miss to perceive the beauty of our own shadows - which is childhood.

Design is really 80% time remodification of already existing, 5% time identification and 15% time radical (creating new and unique). 80% people keep thinking and other rest down the ladder 10% act and also on top 10% people also do act. But the 10% people who act on top do it in a very positive way. The lower 10% too have their intentions clear but it has -ve impact. Design is about common sense. Childhood teaches us this. Real value is also asking question - what's the value of human body? Am I justifying my time on earth? What is the core value I have to learn so that the questions stop and just peace and joy comes forever as effortlessly as it came in childhood? Its more about common sense and when we don't ask such questions, then its foolishness to not ask after getting such a precious human body, life and companion.

These are some of the reflections which I had today..but jotting down here with image.

I realised that my Seeds++ Journey is worth, and also my graceful journey as devotee is most worthful thing under inspiration of my Guru Pramukh Swami Maharaj. So my only question to self: Am I really doing real Prasangam each day, each moment ?

extinguish it""

extinguish it""

Science always is 'perhaps' even after evidence and established theories.
Faith is never 'perhaps'. Faith is domain of 'certainty'.

Good teaching, indeed, comes from the identity and integrity of teacher. Technology and science helps to grasp much perceived reality in easy terms, but it is just time bound universality. Faith is eternal universality.

Faith truly makes a good teacher, but also it may seem that technology is necessary as it protects the 'diya' from extinguishing. (One just pays donation and goes for famous schools as that grooms total personality of child and makes him very intelligent and thus protects the diya (child), but what one misses is that the heart of education is the education of the heart). And thus what stands tests of time is Faith. 'Certainty' can't be extinguished but 'perhaps' can be.

Extinguish the notions set in your mind that 'only reputed' schools and other similar means is the only real way to groom a child. Technology & Science can even protect the 'diya', which means person may be afluent in society whereas only persons of faith may seem poor externally. But only faith makes a person stand bravely in tests of time. Thus with faith as precursor, education is a bonus! This clarity is the essence of Ancient Indian Education System.

Nothing Gold Can Stay
-- Robert Frost.

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
